Email addresses are only "labels", and they do not work by themselves without being linked to a mailbox, which is the physical storage to hold your incoming messages delivered to the email server (post office). That is why email addresses are sometimes called email aliases.
For example, the main email address for user "alberte" is alberte@accsoft.com.au, and he can also have another 5 addresses like einstein@clever.accsoft.com.au or scientist@cool.accsoft.com.au to be his other email addresses. Messages being sent to any of those addresses are all delivered to his mail box: alberte@accsoft.com.au.
Should Albert has his own company "Relativity Technology Inc" and has registered a domain name "relativity.com" with Accsoft, he can have unlimited number of email addresses like sales@relativity.com and albert@relativity.com, linking to any Accsoft mailboxes that Albert owns. Back
