No one can be awarded more than one bursary.

State allocations have been increased with 10 bursaries per year for QLD, 12 for NSW, 7 for VIC, 5 each for WA, SA and TAS and 3 each for NT and ACT.

Payments

Values vary between $3,000 and $6,000 per year. One scheme pays HECS/tuition fees only. Under all other schemes, an amount is given at the start of each year to help with enrolment fees, text books and materials. A smaller amount is paid in mid-year for the second half year's expenses. The rest of the year's money is paid in ten monthly equal instalments during the academic year (March to December). Payments are exempt from income tax but are considered as income for Centrelink payments.

Payments subject to continuing enrolment, satisfactory progress and continuing financial eligibility.
