When you enter an Internet name into your computer, whether it is a website address or an email address, it needs to be translated into a number (in fact four dotted numbers that is commonly called an IP address).

The job of looking up numbers from names (or the reverse) is called Domain Name Service (DNS) and is done by, guess what, a Domain Name Server (DNS).

Domain Parking is the service provided by an ISP to put your domain name into their DNS so that the world will be able to look up names in your domain from the DNS.
